Legendary screen actress (1911–1937), known for her unique sex appeal and her distinctive platinum blonde hairdo, who died of renal failure at the age of 26. Vintage matte-finish 10.5 x 13.25 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Viola, The best of luck and a world of happiness is my wish for you—Sincerely, Jean Harlow.” In very good condition, with some light contrast to portions of signature and inscription, lightly trimmed edges affecting the final stroke of signature, trivial paper loss to top right corner tip, and adhesive remnants to reverse. Accompanied by an invitation to Harlow’s wedding to Paul Bern. Authentically-signed Harlow images are scarce, even more so in oversized examples, and this is a beautiful example.
